This is one of two tabletop repairs we’re tackling—both had DIY clear coats that unfortunately didn’t hold up, allowing moisture in and lifting the stain in several areas. Those light spots? That’s what happens when water sneaks past the finish. We’re getting settled in for some serious time under the lights, using touch-up brushes to work through the small repairs with precision. Once the details are dialed in, we’ll tone the affected areas to bring everything back to a consistent, rich finish. This requires one HECK OF A RUTHLESS FINISHING SCHEDULE to pull off…BUT…still WAY MORE AFFORDABLE than all new white oak cabinetry and with a far better finish than anything you’ll find from a cabinet company or big box store. This boss was not happy. 🤣 🤦🏻‍♂️ This weekend we finished the brown trim in the dining room to SW High Reflective White, painted the walls SW Shoji White and scrubbed, sanded, and toned this old dining table for the 3rd time for yet another go at life.
