Such a fun and educational experience on these! Sanding alone doesn’t knock the orange out enough to make it look like ‘natural oak’ like the client wanted. Hence the gun with the green sauce! This requires one HECK OF A RUTHLESS FINISHING SCHEDULE to pull off…BUT…still WAY MORE AFFORDABLE than all new white oak cabinetry and with a far better finish than anything you’ll find from a cabinet company or big box store. We built this table around 8-9 years ago. It eventually got so abused with kids paint/markers/etc that it got kicked to the basement and the dining room turned into a mini home gym. This boss was not happy. 🤣 🤦🏻‍♂️ This weekend we finished the brown trim in the dining room to SW High Reflective White, painted the walls SW Shoji White and scrubbed, sanded, and toned this old dining table for the 3rd time for yet another go at life. Most of the time we’re shooting in large amounts which requires our 2 or 4 quart pressure pots. But we ALWAYS welcome the opportunity to load up our 3M PPS system attached to the Apollo Sprayers HVLP 7700 gun for smaller jobs. This exact gun is nearly 10 years old and our go to workhorse. Just used it to paint my kitchen walls yesterday. If it needs shot with paint, stain, or clear…I’m grabbing my Apollo every time. Hoosier Cabinet guys just got a fresh coat of Valspar Lovely Bluff mixed in our industrial wood coatings.
